Community Clubs Victoria recognise Volunteers

Ballarat Golf Club proudly hosted a special event during the week in partnership with Community Club Victoria to recognise and celebrate the invaluable contributions of volunteers. Representatives from many local clubs were in attendance, but a highlight of the event was the acknowledgment of our very own “Dads Army” – a dedicated group of volunteers who work tirelessly around the course every Monday morning. Led by Denis Faulkner, this hardworking team plays a vital role in supporting our greens staff and keeping the course in top condition.

Their commitment and enthusiasm are a true asset to our club, and this recognition was a well-deserved tribute to their ongoing efforts.

The following is from Community Clubs Victoria

Earlier this week, we came together to honour the remarkable volunteers of the City of Ballarat in the lead-up to National Volunteer Week (May 19–25, 2025). The evening was a vibrant celebration of the unwavering dedication of our community’s unsung heroes. It was a privilege to acknowledge their tireless efforts and the vital role they play in supporting our clubs and strengthening local communities.

Thank you to the incredible team at Ballarat Golf Club for graciously hosting this special evening. Their warm hospitality and beautifully presented venue set the perfect stage for a night of recognition, gratitude, and celebration.

We would also like to extend our thanks to Mayor Cr Tracey Hargreaves, GAICD and fellow councillors.

We’d also like to thank the clubs that attended: Ballarat & District Trotting Club, Midlands - RSL Golf Club, and Ballarat Yacht Club for bringing along your wonderful volunteers and being part of the evening.
