2018 Golf Open Day

On Sunday the 21st of October the Ballarat Golf Club held its award winning Golf Open Day with a great turn out of nearly 400 people throughout the day and perfect weather for the event.

The open day is a great opportunity to introduce some new people to our club and for golfers to bring their family and friends along for some fun.

Visitors to the club, members and their guests had full access to all of the practice facilities, equipment and some tips from professional golfers. This year saw some new additions to the annual golf day with the SNAG Castle hitting bays, face painting and a blow up dart board which was a big hit with all of the kids.

PGA Trainee Professionals here competing in the PGA National Futures Championship this week were on hand to assist on the chipping, putting greens and the driving range and we would like to extend a big thank you to those trainees who helped out. Also on the driving range was the Trackman team running through the trackman challenge with ten of our members who won spots to complete the combine test as part of the global BMW Trackman Challenge. The Ballarat Trackman event is one of 40, making up a global digital competition to find the best shot maker in the world and is the only event held in Australia as part of the series.

Tomorrow the PGA National Futures Championship Pro Am will be held and Round One for the trainees kicks off Tuesday the 23rd October.

We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped out today at the Golf Open Day including Victoria Rushton, Wayne Hines, Ashley Bennett, Hunter Bennett, Gary Fry, David Wallis, Samantha Wallis, Jimmy Rushton, Ange Tatt, Darren Bowman, Gary Wallis, Lorraine Wallis, Hannah Mead, Lesa Gray, Michael Erbacher, Rory Brennan and Natalie Purtell.

Congratulations to Julie Driscoll who won our limited membership giveaway.
