The Ballarat Golf Club is delighted to announce the return of the Australian Ladies Professional Golf (ALPG) Ballarat Icons Pro Am in January. 2019 will see the event change to a two day Event held on January 26th and 27th with Saturday 26th being a Pro-Am and Sunday 27th being a seeded draw for the Professionals Only. The upcoming event will also incorporate a Rookie Camp running from the 21st to the 25th of January and the First Ever ALPG Qualifying event on the 24th and 25th of January.
Last years line up included high profile names such as Dame Laura Davies, former world number 1 and winner of 84 professional tournaments, Stacey Peters (nee Keating) winner of 2 Ladies European Tour titles and former Oates Victorian Open Champion, 4 Rio Olympians and current and three time World Longest drive champion Phillis Meti, who in 2017 broke the world record for the longest drive by a woman golfer, hitting a drive of 406 yards while competing at the World Championships.
The Ballarat Icons Pro Am is the start of the 2019 ALPG Club Car Series amongst the events in the series is the ActewAGL Canberra Classic, Women’s NSW Open, Australian Ladies Classic Bonville and the Qantas Golf Club Gold Coast Challenge.
This year the Ballarat Golf Club are looking to increase the prize money on offer and are currently seeking sponsors to support the event.
The ALPG Ballarat Icons Pro Am was a finalist in the recent 2018 Federation Business School Commerce Ballarat Business Excellence Awards in the category of Events and Attractions.
