Ballarat Golf Club member Liam Howlett has been selected to represent Victoria in the National 12 years and under Golf Championships to be held inToowoomba, Queensland from 10 to 14 November, 2019.
A reserve for last year’s team, Howlett has won selection in the 2019 boys team comprising 8 members who will travel and represent Victoria against ACT, NSW, QLD, and SA.
Whilst regularly seen on a Saturday at Ballarat Golf Club, or on the practice range, Liam was also the boys recipient of Ballarat Golf Clubs Junior Scholarship for 2019 and attributes the Scholarship opportunities to his game improving to a level whereby he now gets to represent his state.
Liam is the only team member from regional Victoria, speaking volumes for not only the Scholarship benefits but the opportunities afforded to Ballarat junior golfers and the quality of local coaching available.
Liam is also a member of the FedUni Westvic Academy of Sport Golf Program, which has assisted focusing his talents on elite level competition.
“My coach Andrew Cartledge and I set a goal of making the state team a long time ago, and I am pretty proud that our hard work has given me this opportunity.”

Howlett hopes to play as much golf as possible leading into the national Championships to ensure he is in great form come November.
